Sclerotherapy is a specialised treatment for blue veins and spider veins, done by injection of a solution into the vessel. This provokes a reaction in the injected vessel, resulting in sclerosis of the vessel, which means the walls of the vessel harden and grow closed, leaving the vein invisible to the eye.

Sclerotherapy is slightly uncomfortable while the injections are being performed but it is completely safe, with excellent results.
